Home Delivery

Oberlin Home Delivery

Individuals who are temporarily or permanently unable to visit the library and have no one in their residence who can visit the library on their behalf are eligible to register for home delivery of library materials.

Who is eligible for this service?

To be eligible for home delivery, patrons must have a medical condition that prevents them from visiting the library, and must live in a residence with no other individuals that can visit the library on their behalf. Eligible patrons must also live within the library’s service district (Oberlin City School District)

What materials are available for home delivery?

All materials owned by Oberlin Public Library are available for home deliveries. Interlibrary Loan materials are not available for delivery at this time. Enrolled patrons may have up to 10 items on their library card.

How do delivery and pick-up work?

A library staff member will work with you to provide materials that fit your needs and interests and then to coordinate delivery and pick-up times. Delivery and pick-up will both occur once a month. If a delivery/pick up is missed it will be rescheduled for the next month. Checkouts and associated fees will be the same as in-person lending. The library does not charge overdue fees, but patrons must pay for lost or damaged items.

Delivery may be postponed due to certain situations like inclement weather, staff availability, or other extenuating circumstances

How do I sign up for this service?

Interested patrons should complete the Home Delivery Application online or print the application and return it to the library via email (homedelivery@oberlinlibrary.org) or mail. The library will contact applicants to confirm enrollment. Patrons may be waitlisted depending on service demand.
